URGENT: We Need Some NEUTRA Noise!

URGENT...VOICES of SUPPORT needed (via email):

It's just around the corner and your voice is needed!
The State Historic Resources Commission will be hearing the nomination for Connell House (1958) by Master Architect Richard Neutra this coming Tuesday, April 22nd at 9am (Asilomar's Kiln Room in Pacific Grove, CA).

We need individual and concise "sound bites" to stress that this house is historic and should remain part of the Monterey Peninsula architectural mid-century legacy and to the world of architecture at large for future generations.

Please include your title / credentials / etc... when you type your name at the end of the message.
Voices from close to home here on the Monterey Peninsula and from around the globe will help!

Ask for your email to be added to the Commissioners' packets and most of all, email ASAP before end of week 04/20.

The email address to put in the "To" box is:
Carol Roland-Nawi, CSHP Officer:
carol.roland-nawi@parks.ca.gov

with three vital cc's to:
Ms. Roland-Nawi's assistant: thunter@parks.ca.gov
Jay Correia: Jay.Correia@parks.ca.gov
Amy Crain: Amy.Crain@parks.ca.gov

Thank you for your support!

::URGENT:: Help SAVE the Connell House!

The efforts of Monterey Bay Modernism to SAVE the Connell is proud to announce a new ally, (AMAP) Alliance of Monterey Area Preservationists. This local organization has stepped forward to help champion our cause and we are most grateful for their time, dedication and service.

Below is a letter from Sally Aberg on behalf of AMAP:

Dear Members of AIA Monterey Bay and Monterey Bay Modernism
and Friends of Architecture Everywhere,

Master mid-century architect Richard Neutra’s distinguished 1958 “Connell House” in Pebble Beach will be lost in 2014 without everyone’s help.

Please ensure that the only Neutra designed residence on California’s Central Coast is not demolished under our collective watch!

Please read this story that appeared in the Carmel Pine Cone just a few weeks ago:
From this you'll see that the Board of the Alliance of Monterey Area Preservationists (AMAP) has generously stepped up to the plate. They commissioned architectural historian Anthony Kirk and Neutra-expert Barbara Lamprecht to spend their December holidays writing a report, nominating the Connell House to the National Register of Historic Resources. If inclusion on the National Register is granted, this eligibility designation will afford the home critical protection.

Now the architectural historians need to be paid for their hard work on the nomination.
I promised AMAP I could raise the funds to match or surpass AMAP’s financial pledge by January by reaching out to the Monterey Peninsula's architectural community—and beyond.

As of January 28th, I have not yet reached my goal, but I'm not giving up.
I feel confident I can still achieve my commitment by asking you to donate $10 or more.

Please go to AMAP’s dedicated page Right Now:    PRESERVE local NEUTRA

The campaign to “Save the Connell House” is clearly described there, along with photographs, links to much more information, and a “Donate” button to click on.

Checks are also fine.

I urge you to make a contribution today.

Your individual response is critical, if we care about preserving this landmark.
After contributing, please forward this appeal via email and social media to everyone you know worldwide who would be concerned about the loss of this mid-century architectural treasure forever.

This Neutra house needs your vital support....Every $10 will help!

Thank you so very much.
